Texas Senate votes to end diversity, equity, inclusion practices on college campuses

"Wednesday night, Democratic State Senator Sarah Eckhardt, who represents the Austin area,  tweeted her thoughts on the bill passing the senate, saying 'Our state has made strides increasing  diversity, equity, and inclusion -- not by much, but it’s too much for Republicans in the Texas  Senate.'

In an interview with CBS Austin, Sen. Eckhardt said, 'I think that when you take the critical race  theory bill, and the DEI bill and the tenure bill together, what you're getting I retry -- political  retribution against our institutions of higher education for leaning left.'

'We are going to see both hiring and retention issues with professors as well as managerial staff  and then I think it will mean that students will think twice,' said Senator Eckhardt."
